STS (Surface Transfer Standard) Calibrator Certification
Get certified on calibrating surface sensors using our STS lab-grade calibrators. Certification classes are offered on the last Thursday of each month (choose your specific class below). To gain a firm understanding of what a thermocouple is and the importance of properly calibrating Surface Sensors using the EDL Surface Transfer Standard (STS) which was designed to replace hot plates to test sensors for accuracy. The STS is a verified heat source that provides a stable and uniform surface allowing customers to do NIST traceable calibration of virtually any Surface Sensor {in virtually any temperature range, as models exist to cover a large temperature range}. By the end of this course, you will have a firm understanding of what a thermocouple is, why it is important to calibrate the thermocouple, and how to test your thermocouple (or Surface Sensor & E-Z Probe) to ensure accurate equipment is constantly in rotation at your facility. We will dedicate a brief portion of time to discussing what to do if a sensor shows a problem during testing, and how to examine the sensor for physical damage.
