The EDL Roller Contact Sensor with Nylon Block (RC Style) is the number one choice across industries for measuring temperatures of moving or stationary, smooth surfaces. These sensors are ideal for use on rotating or stationary pipes, drums, tanks, hoses, and are capable of measuring surface speeds up to 2500′ per minute at temperatures up to 650 °C (1200 °F), depending on band temperature ordered.

Roller Contact Sensors are designed for spot-checking and intermittent monitoring; standard construction consists of a Nylon block and Stainless Steel band. Bands are durable and allow for rapid measurement response times. The RC Nylon block is glass filled and withstands temperatures up to 200 °C (375 °F). For applications requiring higher temperature blocks or permanent installation, contact sales@edl-inc.com. We also offer versions of Holders with Replaceable Bands.

Bands are available to accommodate 1″ to 120″ diameters:
• 2.5″ Band, Thermocouple Type K Example Part#: RC2.5-08KM
For use on stationary objects between approximately 1/2″ to 15″ diameter. For use on moving objects between approximately 1/2″ to 8″ diameter.
• 5″ Band, Thermocouple Type K Example Part#: RC5-08KM
For use on stationary objects with a maximum diameter of 3′. For use on moving objects with a maximum diameter of approximately 1 ½’.
• 12″ Band, Thermocouple Type K Example Part#: RC12-08KM
For use on stationary objects with a maximum diameter of 10′. For use on moving objects with a maximum diameter of approximately 5′.
