With a compact 15” square footprint, our Mini-Salt Bath (MSB) is designed for portability and ease of integration into any workspace, all without compromising stability and performance. This is a true Stirred-Liquid Bath, ensuring exceptional uniformity and repeatability across the entire immersion depth for consistent, reliable calibrations.

The MSB delivers exceptional stability with standard deviations as low as ±0.005 K (2σ), and both models maintain ≤10 mK stability and uniformity for high-precision requirements. With its rapid heat-up rates, the unit achieves 200 °C from ambient in only ~90 minutes, with heating rates exceeding 2.6 °C/min, thereby maximizing your ability to calibrate at various temperatures throughout the day – ideal for busy labs. At temperatures ranging from 200 °C to 500 °C, you can expect it to reach full temperature in ~75 minutes.

The EDL Mini-Salt Bath (MSB) offers a deep Immersion with over 12” of fluid immersion depth, ideal for comparison calibrations of Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometers (SPRTs), industrial thermometers, and thermocouples. Additionally, the MSB can accommodate short sensors, with only 2.1” from the bath neck to the fluid surface; even shorter sensors are easily submerged, simplifying complex calibration setups and offering you the utmost in convenience and flexibility.

EDL is known for its outstanding vertical uniformity, and this salt bath facilitates accurate calibrations with multiple sensors and varying probe lengths by utilizing our Sensor Holder System, which is available for all our Mini Baths.

Our MSB offers flexible control options as we use a high-quality controller, and it features an intuitive built-in touchscreen or connects directly to a computer with iTools via RS-232 to USB for advanced bath management and data logging. Our Baths are ready to use out of the box and come with Preset Temperature Points. This allows you to quickly select from several pre-programmed setpoints for simple, fast, and reliable operation.

One of the most advanced features of the EDL American-made Mini-Salt Bath is its high-performance equalization block (Optional). The large tank accommodates a stainless-steel equalization block (customizable, with any number of holes), typically over 6” deep and with at least five fluid-filled sensor wells. Brass and copper options are available for the MSB-200-D.

As with all the Baths in our line, we offer an accessory-friendly design which includes two predrilled, threaded mounting plates on the bath’s top to accept up to 10 MSB-SUPPORT-POLES for secure, adjustable sensor mounting (MSB-S-CONNECTOR and MSB-SENSORHOLDER available).

Quick sensor adjustments are a breeze with this unit, and the accessories enable rapid and flexible sensor changes, as well as secure placement for efficient workflows.
