Heavy Duty Prong Sensor

EDL’s Heavy Duty Prong Sensors are designed to provide fast and accurate readings on rough, uneven metal surfaces. The fixed prongs are available in lengths of 1”, 3”, or 6” and are center-sharpened to ensure positive contact with any metal surface. The prongs can be easily replaced and re-sharpened as needed. They are mounted in a high-temperature block and feature a 2.5” powder-coated aluminum handle for a secure grip. Rated for temperatures up to 815 °C (1500 °F), these sensors come in thermocouple types E, J, and K. Replacement prongs are sold separately.

These sensors are ideal for aluminum castings and foundry applications. They require a pressure of 5-7 pounds of force for reliable readings. The ability to easily re-sharpen or replace prongs makes these units favorites in the aluminum and metal industries, and they are frequently ordered with the “E” Termination for use with our one-handed Pocket-Probe V Pyrometer.
