DBB Dual Black Body Infrared Calibrator

Engineered for excellence, the EDL DBB Dual Black Body Infrared Calibrator sets the industry benchmark for infrared calibration in laboratories and industrial QC departments worldwide. Available in two versatile versions—the DBB-350 (Low: -30 °C to 110 °C / High: Ambient to 350 °C) and the DBB-650 (Low: -30 °C to 110 °C / High: Ambient to 650 °C)—this all-in-one calibrator is designed for virtually any IR gun, regardless of its class.

The DBB series features independently drilled blocks for SPRTs, providing enhanced traceability and allowing easy removal for independent calibration. Each unit is equipped with RTD and thermocouple control sensors, offering flexibility to accept external reference sensors (sold separately), which we calibrate as part of the system. The calibrator features dual target areas (hot and cold sides) machined for optimal isothermal performance and coated for a high emissivity of 0.986. Its generous 2″ diameter targets and precision controller ensure exceptional accuracy (±1 °C) throughout the entire temperature range, with fine set-point control in 0.1 °C increments.

Effortlessly operated, these units come preprogrammed and ready to go straight out of the box. Users set the desired black body temperature from the intuitive front panel, wait for stabilization, and quickly and efficiently calibrate their IR pyrometers. The Fast-Cool feature enables rapid temperature changes and secure movement from lab to production environments. Includes RTD (Low-Side) & Thermocouple (Hot-Side) Control Sensors (External Reference Sensors Sold Separately, see the 1/8” PRT we include with the Reference System Option).

The DBB may be used with the optional Universal Black Body Aperture (Part #: BB-APP). This aperture enhances your calibration capabilities, as it is specifically designed to help improve and simplify size and source measurements of all IR pyrometers. This versatile accessory assists in identifying true spot sizes during calibrations, ensuring your IR measurements are as accurate as possible.
