Product Warranties



EDL's standard instruments and Metrology products come with a 12-month warranty; free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. EDL's temperature sensors and instrumentation have a warranty only against manufacture's defects. Any defects caused by the user due to misuse, neglect, accident, or abnormal conditions of operation or storage will not be accepted in the warranty.

We offer a calibration lab for sensors & instruments that need regular calibration services, to prolong the life of said instrument or sensor.

EDL products are warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for 12-month's, or one year, from the date of purchase. Within this period, EDL will, at its sole option, repair or replace any components that fail in normal use. This warranty does not apply to: (1) cosmetic damage, such as scratches, nicks and dents; (2) consumable parts, such as batteries, unless product damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; or (3) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, water, flood, fire, or other acts of nature or external causes. In addition, EDL reserves the right to refuse warranty claims against products or services that are obtained and/or used in contravention of the laws of any country.

Repairs have a 30 day warranty against parts and workmanship. If the unit sent in is still under its original warranty, then the new warranty is 30 days, or continues to the end of the original one year warranty, depending upon which is longer.

The warranty extends only to the original purchaser (purchases from EDL or recognized EDL distributors are considered original purchasers). In the event of failure of a product covered by a warranty, EDL will repair the instrument when it is returned by the purchaser, freight prepaid, to our manufacturing facility within applicable warranty period. Repairs or replacements will be made without charge and will be returned, freight paid by EDL, unless the failure was caused by misuse, neglect, accident, or abnormal conditions of operation or storage, in which case all repairs will be billed to customer at a reasonable cost. In such cases where repair costs are necessary, an estimate will be submitted before work is started. EDL will not begin repairs until estimate and payment is agreed upon. The foregoing warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including but not limited to any implied warranty or merchantability, fitness, or adequacy for any particular purpose or use. EDL shall not be liable for any special, incidental, or consequential damages, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, that may arise.

To obtain warranty service for EDL's Metrology Product Line, please contact EDL's Product Support Team and refer to shipping instructions under Returns/Claims section for information on how to obtain RA #'s for those items requiring such. In the event a Calibrator from our Metrology Line must be returned, it must be securely packaged and complete contact information must be included in box; please refer to Returns/Claims section for additional information.
