Instructions for Return of Repairs/Claims




Repairs

EDL strives to keep the repair process as simple and stress-free as possible. Please read the information below about how to return your instruments or sensors.

Many repairs may be avoided by merely changing the battery; when applicable.  Do not return the instrument for repair unless you have tried installing a new battery to determine whether the new battery restores the instrument to its proper working condition.  Once/if it has been determined the battery is not the issue, all standard (non Metrology) repairs should be shipped to:

  • Please be sure the returned items are sent to us in a corrugated container, with ample packing to protect against further damage during transit.  Please label the outside of the package “FRAGILE, HANDLE WITH CARE.” Insure the package for the full purchase price value; EDL does not accept responsibility for damage or loss during transport.   

  • Inside the package include your complete contact information, i.e. contact name, company name, return shipping address, valid phone number(s), e-mail address(s), and a short note explaining the nature of your problem.  In many instances, the information you provide is helpful in quickly and easily restoring the instrument to optimum performance, which saves you time and money! 

  • You will be contacted regarding repair costs once an evaluation has been completed. No repairs will be performed until we receive verbal authorization and payment is agreed upon.

  • With all Metrology returns, call our Technical Team to report the nature of the problem before returning the product to our facility.


Claims Returns

All claims for shortage, damaged, or material defects must be made within 10 days from the date of receipt of merchandise. Claims must specify EDL’s invoice number and date. No merchandise should be returned without authorization and must be issued a Return Authorization Number (RA#).  Contact EDL at: 1-800-342-5335 to receive RA #. Refer to shipping instructions above.
